Matthew Lublin, MD, FACS

Dr. Matthew Lublin has always wanted to bring a high level of surgical care to the Los Angeles community, having grown up in the San Fernando Valley. Using advanced laparoscopic techniques, Dr. Lublin specializes in hernias of the abdominal wall and weight loss surgery. He has performed over 1000 laparoscopic gallbladder removals and over 1500 laparoscopic inguinal (groin hernias). He teaches courses to other surgeons on the performance of laparoscopic hernias.

After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania in 1991, Dr. Lublin came back to Los Angeles to attend medical school at UCLA. He completed his general surgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. Upon completion of his residency in 2003, Dr. Lublin was awarded the Mount Sinai Hospital David A. Dreilling Award for Academic Achievement. Following residency, Dr. Lublin completed an advanced laparoscopic surgery and bariatric (weight loss) surgery fellowship at Cedars- Sinai Medical Center. He also completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Lublin practices at St. John’s Health Center, Providence Cedars Sinai Tarzana Medical Center, UCLA West Valley Medical Center, and Valley Presbyterian Hospital.
Dr. Lublin is a Board Certified general surgeon and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a Member of the American Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES), the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, and the American Hernia Society.
He is happily married for over 20 years and has three wonderful boys.
